Every Datto backup device is designed from the ground up with security in mind. Our devices use the latest encryption technology to keep your information safe and secure. Each device uses a unique key to transmit AES 256 data back to our secure redundant data centers. Your data is then stored in an encrypted state on synchronized redundant servers located on the East and West coast of the United States. Since each device uses a unique encryption key tied to your password, you and you alone are the only person with access to your data. Because each Datto device must check in with datto servers before making any files available on a network, Datto can protect your files if your device is ever lost or stolen. Datto can send commands to remotely erase the device and transmit back information to help law enforcement find any potential thief.
